Rays' Juniel Querecuto: Contract selected by Rays

Querecuto's contract was selected by the Rays on Wednesday, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports.

A 5-foot-9 infielder, Querecuto has seen time at third base, second base and shortstop between Double-A and Triple-A this year. The 24-year-old is hitting just .241/.298/.341 over those two stops though, and has just three home runs and three steals in 340 at-bats, so it would seem his defensive versatility is the top skill he brings to the table.
