Red Sox's Fernando Abad: Will be tendered

The Red Sox will tender a contract to Abad, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

Abad, who was left off the postseason roster after an awful two months following his acquisition, is entering the final year of arbitration and figures to make in the neighborhood of $2 million. If he can pitch anything like he did with Minnesota, that Abad would be a bargain.
