Shields allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five over five innings in a rehabilitation start for Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.
Shields ran his pitch count up to 72, 18 more than he threw in his first rehab start. The White Sox will have to assess the outing and determine the right-hander's next step but he's at a level where he could throw 90-95 his next time out, which could be in the majors.
