Grizzlies' James Ennis: Waived by Grizz

Ennis was waived by the Grizzlies on Wednesday, Chris Herrington of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

The Grizzlies needed to free up a roster spot after signing veteran center Ryan Hollins on Wednesday, and Ennis was the chosen casualty. The forward came over from the Heat with Mario Chalmers back in a November trade, but he failed to grab hold of a regular rotation spot and has spent considerable time in the D-League. That's where he may end up for the rest of the 2015-16 season, though the 25-year-old figures to generate some modest interest as a free agent this offseason if he goes unclaimed off waivers.
