Mavericks' Wesley Matthews: Ruled out Wednesday with hip injury

Matthews is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Hawks due to a hip injury, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
Neither Matthews nor the team indicated after Monday's win over the Heat that the swingman was nursing the injury, but it appears he may have suffered a recurrence of the hip strain that sidelined him for two games in January. Matthews had been struggling in the Mavs' first three contests since the All-Star break, averaging just 8.7 points on 6-of-20 shooting (30%) from the field. With Matthews out for at least Wednesday's game, the Mavericks could opt to start Dorian Finney-Smith at small forward and take on the bulk of the Matthews' minutes, or go with a larger starting lineup featuring Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki at small forward and power forward, respectively, while the newly-acquired Nerlens Noel would make his first start at center for the team.
