Nets' Caris LeVert: Not expected to play in summer league

LeVert (foot) isn't expected to play for the Nets in the summer league, Daniel Popper of the New York Daily News reports. "I'm a long-term thinker, a long-term type of guy, always have been," LeVert said. "I'm just excited. I know it's a lot of work to be put in right now, but I'm just excited to get to this point."
LeVert has underwent three surgeries to repair stress fractures in his left foot, with the latter two procedures ending his junior and senior seasons at Michigan prematurely. Despite the medical red flags, the 6-foot-7 LeVert's talents were immense enough for the Nets to take a gamble on him with the 20th overall pick. While LeVert will skip out on summer league play, he's expected to be back to full health by training camp, when he could immediately claim a rotation spot for a depth-deprived Nets squad.
