  • Kevin Austin Jr. NO WR
Saints' Kevin Austin: Draws nine targets in Week 18 loss
    5m ago

Austin caught four of nine targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Falcons.

With Chris Olave (blood clots) out for the regular-season finale, Austin filled the role of WR1 for Tyler Shough and drew a team-high nine targets. Austin ended up appearing in eight games for the Saints this season and finished with 13 catches for 140 yards and his first career touchdown. The 25-year-old is under contract through the 2026 campaign but likely won't be guaranteed a roster spot next summer.

  • Jaret Patterson LAC RB
Chargers' Jaret Patterson: Expanded role with starter resting
    8m ago

Patterson rushed eight times for 29 yards while adding three receptions on four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 19-3 loss to Denver.

Patterson was able to re-emerge in Week 18 with starter Omarion Hampton sitting out the season finale along with several other key players. The 25-year-old Patterson led the Chargers' backfield in touches, although it was QB Trey Lance who led the team in rushing (9-69-0) Sunday. Hampton will be available for the wild-card round of the playoffs, so Patterson can safely be ignored against the Patriots next Sunday.

  • Kareem Hunt KC RB
Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Muted production in defeat
    15m ago

Hunt rushed five times for 14 yards and caught three of four targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 14-12 loss to the Raiders.

Hunt was able to play in Week 18 after opening the week on the sidelines at practice with an illness, but he finished with fewer than 15 rushing yards for the third time in four weeks. The running back was able to match his season-high three catches though, finishing third on the team in receiving yards. Hunt has now completed his campaign having turned 163 carries into 611 yards and eight touchdowns while reeling in 18 of 25 targets for 143 yards and a touchdown over 17 regular-season contests. The 30-year-old will enter the offseason as a free agent, and he's proven to be a rather reliable short-yardage option in the backfield, potentially making him a desirable player on the open market.

  • Tanner McKee PHI QB
Eagles' Tanner McKee: Inconsistent in Week 18 loss
    18m ago

McKee completed 21 of 40 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Commanders. He added two rushes for three yards.

Jalen Hurts was active for the game but did not play, leaving McKee with the chance for a spot start. McKee was unsurprisingly inconsistent, leading an impressive 80-yard scoring drive that he capped off with a 15-yard throw to Greg Calcaterra early in the second quarter. However, he otherwise largely struggled, with the Eagles' only other touchdown coming on a short field due to a Washington turnover. McKee will return to a reserve role for Philadelphia's playoff run and for the foreseeable future.

  • Oronde Gadsden II LAC TE
Chargers' Oronde Gadsden: Low volume without starting QB
    18m ago

Gadsden brought in both of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 19-3 loss to the Broncos.

Gadsden was one of a handful of key players on offense allowed to take the field for the Chargers in Week 18. The 2025 fifth-round pick was able to add a couple of receptions to his rookie total, bringing his final line up to 49-664-3 in 15 appearances this regular season. While the tight end certainly surpassed expectations as a rookie, Gadsden's inconsistent play down the stretch makes him a risky DFS play in the wild-card round, even with QB Justin Herbert back under center.

  • Tyler Allgeier ATL RB
Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Career-high eight TDs in 2025
    24m ago

Allgeier rushed seven times for 16 yards and caught one of two targets for three yards in Sunday's win over New Orleans.

After rushing 137 times for 644 yards and three touchdowns across 17 appearances last season, Allgeier handed essentially the same amount of carries in 2025, finishing with a 143-514-8 rushing line. He added 14 catches for 96 scoreless yards. Allgeier's eight touchdowns marked a new career high for the 25-year-old, who handled a sizable chunk of the goal-line work for Atlanta. After spending four seasons with the Falcons, Allgeier is scheduled to be a free agent in the offseason. There's a chance he could land a starting job elsewhere as an early-down back.

  • Paxton Schultz TOR P
Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Designated for assignment
    6h ago

Schultz was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Sunday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Schultz was dropped from the 40-man roster to make room for infielder Kazuma Okamoto, who the team signed Saturday. Schultz posted a 4.38 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 28 strikeouts over 24.2 innings in 13 regular-season appearances, including two starts, with Toronto in 2025. He'll now be subject to waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, the right-hander will likely stick around in the Blue Jays' organization.

Yankees' Paul DeJong: Receives MiLB deal from Yankees
    13h ago

DeJong agreed Sunday with the Yankees on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to spring training, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

DeJong latches on with New York for his age-32 season after spending the 2025 campaign with the Nationals. The veteran infielder played in just 57 games due to a nose and eye injury that stemmed from being hit in the face by a pitch. He finished the season with a .228/269/.373 slash line to go with six home runs, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored and four stolen bases across 208 plate appearances. The Yankees already have ample infield depth, but DeJong will get the chance to compete for a utility role in spring training. If he's added to the Yankees' 26-man active roster at any point, DeJong will earn $1 million, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

  • Orlando Arcia COL 3B
Twins' Orlando Arcia: Signs minors deal with Twins
    1d ago

Arcia signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Arcia endured his worst season in the big leagues last year, slashing .202/.238/.291 with 13 RBI and 13 runs scored across 214 plate appearances between Atlanta and Colorado. The 31-year-old will have a chance to bounce back in the Twins' farm system, but he likely won't act as more than bench depth if he makes it back to the majors in 2026.

  • Kaleb Ort HOU RP
Astros' Kaleb Ort: Dropped from 40-man
    2d ago

The Astros designated Ort (elbow) for assignment Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Ort posted a 4.89 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 46 innings with the Astros in 2025 before missing the final month of the season due to elbow inflammation. He'll now lose his place on Houston's 40-man roster to make room for Tatsuya Imai.

Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Booted off 40-man roster
    2d ago

The Twins designated Fitzgerald for assignment Friday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Eric Wagaman, who was acquired via trade. Fitzgerald reached the majors for the first time in 2025 shortly before turning 31, finishing with a .196/.302/.457 batting line with four home runs in 24 games for the Twins. He's a versatile defender, which could mean there will be interest in Fitzgerald on waivers.

  • Eric Wagaman MIN 1B
Twins' Eric Wagaman: Traded to Minnesota
    2d ago

The Twins acquired Wagaman from the Marlins on Friday in exchange for Kade Bragg.

Wagaman had been designated for assignment earlier this week and is now on the move to a new club. The 28-year-old slashed .250/.296/.378 with nine home runs across 140 games for the Marlins this season and is capable of handling the corner infield and outfield spots. Wagaman sported a .283/.321/.462 batting line against lefties in 2025, so much of his playing time in Minnesota could come versus southpaws.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Won't return vs. Milwaukee
    22m ago

Ellis won't return to Sunday's game against the Bucks due to a left thumb injury, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Ellis logged just five minutes before picking up the thumb injury, and he'll finish with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and two rebounds. His next opportunity to suit up will come Tuesday against Dallas.

  • Aaron Gordon DEN PF
Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Posts 20 points off bench in return
    40m ago

Gordon (hamstring) racked up 20 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes during Sunday's 127-115 loss to the Nets.

The Nuggets opted to have Gordon come off the bench in his first appearance since Nov. 21 due to a hamstring strain, though the veteran forward picked up right where he left off before going down. Gordon is now averaging 18.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 27.9 minutes per tilt through 14 games, shooting 53.3 percent from the field. Given DaRon Holmes' lack of experience as a starter, it wouldn't be surprising if Gordon soon made his way back into the first unit at center to plug the hole left behind by Nikola Jokic's (knee) absence.

  • Keegan Murray SAC PF
Kings' Keegan Murray: Won't return Sunday
    1h ago

Murray won't return to Sunday's game against the Bucks due to a left ankle injury, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Murray landed on an opposing player's foot and injured his ankle before limping to the locker room with assistance. He'll finish with 12 points (6-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three rebounds and two blocks across 27 minutes. Nique Clifford will likely see increased playing time for the remainder of the game due to Murray being unavailable. His next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against Dallas.

  • Christian Braun DEN SG
Nuggets' Christian Braun: Muted effort in return
    1h ago

Braun (ankle) accumulated three points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one block over 24 minutes during Sunday's 127-115 loss to the Nets.

Sunday was Braun's first appearance since the Nov. 12 win over the Clippers, and he exhibited signs of rust in his return to the floor. Fantasy managers can expect the 2022 first-rounder's minutes to creep back towards the 30s once he becomes further removed from his sprained left ankle. On the campaign, Braun has averaged 10.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 29.2 minutes per contest through 12 games.

  • Peyton Watson DEN SF
Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Stays hot with 23 points
    1h ago

Watson supplied 23 points (8-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 127-115 loss to Brooklyn.

Watson is certainly heating up, with Sunday's performance being his third consecutive game with at least 20 points. The 23-year-old forward should continue to play big minutes in the Nuggets' starting lineup as long as Nikola Jokic (knee) is sidelined. For the campaign, Watson has averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks in 31.1 minutes per contest across 23 games as a starter.

  • Cedric Coward MEM SG
Grizzlies' Cedric Coward: Doubtful to return Sunday
    1h ago

Coward is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Lakers due to a left ankle injury.

Coward landed on an opposing player's foot and limped to the locker room in the final minutes of the first half. The rookie first-rounder logged 13 minutes before picking up the ankle injury, posting 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal. In the likely event he's unable to return, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and GG Jackson are candidates for an uptick in minutes the rest of the way.

Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Little work in overtime win
    7m ago

Soderblom stopped 13 of 15 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights.

Soderblom was lightly tested Sunday, and that appears to be a good way to keep him from giving up too many goals. He allowed tallies to Brandon Saad and Mark Stone, but a Tyler Bertuzzi hat trick carried the Blackhawks to the win. Soderblom now has two wins over his last three outings despite allowed eight goals on 61 shots in that span. For the season, he's at a 5-7-1 record with a 3.87 GAA and an .873 save percentage in 14 contests. Spencer Knight is likely to get the nod Wednesday versus the Blues, but Soderblom should get a start during the upcoming back-to-back that features games Friday at home versus the Capitals and Saturday on the road in Nashville.

  • Artturi Lehkonen COL LW
Avalanche's Artturi Lehkonen: Pots lone goal in loss
    16m ago

Lehkonen scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.

Lehkonen's posted two goals and three assists during his five-game point streak. He's done most of that from the second line, but Gabriel Landeskog (upper body) was hurt Sunday, opening the door for Lehkonen to rejoin Nathan MacKinnon on the top line. Lehkonen is at 15 goals, 34 points, 102 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-36 rating through 41 appearances. He excelled on the top line early in the campaign, so he's worth adding where available in fantasy, though he should be pretty hard to find as it is.

  • Scott Wedgewood COL G
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Takes rare loss versus Panthers
    18m ago

Wedgewood stopped 23 of 25 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.

Wedgewood did his part with a decent effort, but the Avalanche got burned on two turnovers and didn't have the offense to bail out their netminder. This ended Wedgewood's winning streak at five games, but it was just his second regulation loss all season. He's now 18-2-4 with a 2.17 GAA and a .918 save percentage across 26 starts. Considering he started both halves of a weekend back-to-back while Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) is out, Wedgewood looks set for heavy usage in the short term, while Trent Miner is firmly in the backup role. The Avalanche's three-game road trip ends with another hard matchup Tuesday versus the Lightning.

  • Aaron Ekblad FLA D
Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Buries goal Sunday
    23m ago

Ekblad scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Ekblad has picked up the pace with two goals and three assists over his last six outings. He could be set for a larger role while Seth Jones (upper body) is on the mend. Ekblad's first half of 2025-26 hasn't been anything special -- he's now at three goals and 16 points, as well as 60 shots on net, 51 hits, 68 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 40 appearances this season. That puts him on pace to miss the 40-point mark for the fourth year in a row, though he's close enough that a hot second half could reverse his fortunes.

  • Sam Bennett FLA C
Panthers' Sam Bennett: Tallies in Sunday's win
    25m ago

Bennett scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Bennett opened the scoring 6:27 into the first period. With the goal, he extended his point streak to nine games (four tallies, six helpers). The 29-year-old center has locked in since the second half of November and is producing at about his peak level. He's up to 14 goals, 31 points, 104 shots on net, 85 hits, 19 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 41 appearances. The hot streak may not last, but another year of 50-plus points is looking probable.

  • Daniil Tarasov FLA G
Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Sharp in win Sunday
    28m ago

Tarasov stopped 27 of 28 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Tarasov had virtually no margin for error most of the game, and he was able to limit the damage to an Artturi Lehkonen tally in the first period. The 26-year-old Tarasov had given up eight goals on 60 shots while going 0-1-1 over his previous two outings. He's had some uneven results in the backup role this season, but he's at a 5-6-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 14 appearances. Sergei Bobrovsky will likely be back between the pipes for Tuesday's game versus the Maple Leafs, which kicks off a six-game road trip for the Panthers.
