Conley is expected to earn more targets in the upcoming season after the Chiefs released Jeremy Maclin on Friday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
With Maclin out of the picture, Conley has been elevated to No. 2 wideout, but he won't be any higher than third in the receiving pecking order behind tight end Travis Kelce (shoulder) and wideout Tyreek Hill in what will again be a run-heavy offense. On a positive note, Conley will likely see another healthy increase in his target count after jumping from 31 as a rookie in 2015 to 69 last year. In 2016, he gathered in 44 of those passes for 530 yards and no touchdowns.
