Edwards (hip) is in danger of missing the team's first six games of the regular season as he nurses a strained hip, Vic Tafur of The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Various reports have surfaced that the Raiders are contemplating placing the 22-year-old on the PUP list which would subsequently make him unable to return to action until Week 7. While Oakland believes that Edwards may be nearing a return, the team is debating whether or not to utilize the PUP list as a means of retaining an additional roster spot. Edwards will likely not need the full six weeks to recover, so the decision will likely come down to roster bubble matters.
