Blue Jackets' Alexander Wennberg: Sent to AHL Cleveland, move may be temporary

Wennberg was assigned to the team's AHL Cleveland affiliate Tuesday but he may be recalled Wednesday, The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Wennberg posted a solid 40 points over 69 games last season for Columbus and was selected as a member of Team Sweden in the World Championships, making it difficult to believe he will stay in the minors. The 22-year-old is expected to be recalled late Wednesday and in the lineup for the team's season opener Thursday, while this year's No. 3 pick, Pierre-Luc Dubois, will likely be sent to juniors in a corresponding move.
