Matthews picked up two assists and fired five shots on net in a 4-3 loss to the Red Wings on Saturday night.
The young stud is looking better and better with each passing game. Matthews won seven-of-15 face-offs (46.7 percent) and continued to show real chemistry with linemates William Nylander and Zach Hyman. That line is unlikely to stay intact come the regular season -- they're just too young. But it is a glimpse into the future and we sure like what we see.
