Warsofsky (concussion) was recalled from a conditioning assignment and then waived Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sport reports.

Warsofsky spent a week in the minors after battling a concussion since Jan. 17. With the trade deadline fast-approaching, the move was likely made to provide the Penguins with some roster flexibility should they acquire any new players. The former Boston University standout has one point in 12 games this season, and will likely serve as Pittsburgh's eighth defenseman in the near future.
