McCabe signed a three-year, $4.8 million contract extension with the Sabres on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
McCabe was a solid defender for Buffalo last season, notching 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) with a plus-6 rating over 77 games. The former Wisconsin Badgers captain will likely slot into a top-four role with the Sabres in 2016-17, but won't be a great option in most fantasy leagues due to his lack of offensive upside.
