Brewers outfield prospect and recent call-up Brett Phillips is mostly known to the casual baseball observer for his heaven-sent guffaw. Now, you may also consider him to be someone who balled in the driveways of America alongside greatness. Via MLB.com's Matt Monagan and Adam McCalvy, let the man himself tell you ...

"It's a funny story. Macho Man was my neighbor from seventh until 11th grade before he passed away. Every day, he'd see me riding my bike home from school and he'd call me over to play basketball. You would think one of the days, one of the games, he would let up on me, but that was not the case. I got beat every time. You know how kids are always like 'one more game, one more game'? No, he was the one saying 'one more game, we're going again' and I'd be exhausted."

Yea and also verily: Brett Phillips used to play hoops with wrestling legend Randy Savage. Note that he called him "Macho Man," which gives rise to subsequent hopes that this how Mr. Savage preferred to be addressed in his later years.

As of Monday, Brett Phillips is a major-leaguer. Long before Monday, he was someone who'd hooped it up with Macho Man. Which one is better? Brett Phillips doesn't care because he's both.

People, Brett Phillips is the first player in major-league history to have hit a floater against Randy Savage. Possibly.
