LOOK: Javier Baez has the perfect response to Buster Posey throwing shade on homer
Posey thinks Baez enjoyed his homer a little too much
In Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday night, the Giants and Cubs played a thrilling pitchers' duel at Wrigley Field that ended with a win for the hometown team (CHC 1, SF 0). Starters Jon Lester and Johnny Cueto were both brilliant.
The only run of the game scored on Javier Baez's eighth-inning solo home run to left field. Here's the video:
Off the bat, it looked like that ball was heading for Waveland Avenue. It looked like a no-doubter. The wind knocked it down though, and it settled into the basket at the top of the wall. Either way, it was gone and it gave the Cubs the only run they would need.
Based on his reaction, Baez thought that ball was going a long way as well. He didn't expect it to narrowly clear the wall. Check it out:

Giants catcher Buster Posey was asked about the Baez homer after the game, and based on his comments, he wasn't too thrilled with Baez styling a homer that only barely cleared the wall.
Posey thought he hit HR off Chapman. And he said Baez didn't hit his as hard as he thought, "based on the way he reacted to it." Subtle dig.

Posey doubled against Aroldis Chapman in the ninth, and like Baez's homer run, it looked like it was going farther off the bat than it actually did. I thought it was a homer off the bat myself. The wind knocked it down and Posey had to settle for a double.
Anyway, after hearing Posey's comments, Baez responded with the perfect jab on Twitter:
It still went out. #JB9

Yep, it did go out, and it gave the Cubs a one game to none series lead.
