LOOK: Jon Lester's self-deprecating sense of humor about the new CBA wins Twitter
Lester makes fun of himself for his woes at throwing to first base
One might have heard that the owners and MLBPA recently got a deal worked out for a new collective bargaining agreement, meaning there won't be a work stoppage any time within the next five years at the very least.
One might have also heard that Cubs starting pitcher Jon Lester has a bit of an issue at throwing the ball to first base. It's rather amazing, really. He's one of the best pitchers in the world, but he can't throw to first. Coming off a World Series title in which he was very integral and a season in which he finished second in NL Cy Young voting, Lester surely has some self-confidence, too.
What do you get when you mix self-confidence with a glaring weakness and a current event? A great, self-deprecating joke. Take it away, Jon:
While my efforts to eliminate pitchers from having to throw to 1B didnt pass, I'm proud of the PA & Owners for coming together on a new CBA!

Boom roasted ... himself!
As is bound to happen, he got plenty of earnest replies to his tweet and he kept the joke going.

Well done, Jon.
In conclusion, when you are as good at your job as Jon Lester, you can yell at him about his one issue. Until then, just enjoy this excellent self-deprecation. Rock on, Champ.
