Griffey Jr. will be on the cover of MLB The Show 17
Ken Griffey Jr. is having a good 2016.
Earlier in the year, Griffey Jr. was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. On Thursday, Griffey Jr.'s enshrinement into another part of baseball lore became official, as he was announced as the cover athlete for the video game MLB The Show 17.

Griffey Jr. will be a playable legend in the game, which is set to be released for the Playstation 4 console next March.

Pretty cool, right? Although no gameplay video was released along with the Griffey Jr. announcement, you can bank on one thing -- The Show 17 is going to look much, much more realistic than the games that featured Griffey Jr. on the cover back in the day:
