LOOK: Only Coastal Carolina alum in MLB watches them win CWS on Trop jumbotron
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers won the College World Series on Thursday and Taylor Motter loved it
Thursday afternoon in Omaha, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers beat the Arizona Wildcats to win the 2016 College World Series national championship. Arizona won Game 1 before dropping Games 2 and 3 of the best-of-three series.
At the moment, there is only one Coastal Carolina alum playing in the big leagues: Rays utility man Taylor Motter. He got to watch the Chanticleers clinch the CWS title on the Tropicana Field scoreboard Thursday afternoon. Check it out:

That's pretty awesome. The Coastal Carolina t-shirt reveal pulled it all together.
Afterwards Motter sent a message out to the Coastal Carolina ballplayers:
Hey @CoastalBaseball, @taylormotter7 has something to tell you: Congrats, #CollegeWorldSeries champs! pic.twitter.com/quPpI0F9Jc

Now, just for the sake of accuracy, I should note there are actually two former Coastal Carolina players on MLB rosters right now. One is on the DL, however. That's Cubs infielder Tommy La Stella. There's no doubt he's enjoying this as well, especially since Jake Arrieta has to get a Chanticleers tattoo.
