Trevor Bauer pushed back to ALCS Game 3 after cutting his finger repairing drone
Josh Tomlin will start Game 2 instead
CLEVELAND -- Josh Tomlin, not Trevor Bauer, will start Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday, the Indians announced.
The team had to change plans because Bauer cut his pinky repairing his drone and needed stitches.
#Indians President of Baseball Operations Chris Antonetti just told us on @wtam1100 that Trevor Bauer lacerated his pinky repairing a drone.

Ouch. That's not good. At least he'll be able to pitch Game 3. The pinky isn't that important for a pitcher. It's not like it's his index or ring finger. That'd be a huge problem.
"I think he said routine maintenance. He cut his pinky finger on top. Fortunately it was on top," manager Terry Francona said Friday. "The challenge for the doctors will be to make sure this thing, by the time he pitches, has healed enough where it's not bleeding ... (The doctors are) really confident that by the time his turn comes around, he'll be okay,"
Tomlin started Game 3 of the ALDS and held the Red Sox to two runs in five innings. He'll be on one extra day of rest in Game 2, so rest isn't an issue. Bauer started Game 1 against the Red Sox and allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings. He'll be on 11 days' rest.
"It doesn't affect me at all," said Tomlin when asked about flip-flopping starts with Bauer. "When I found out I was going tomorrow, I stuck to the game plan that I was going to do Monday and go out there and compete and win a game,"
The Indians and Blue Jays open the ALCS at Progressive Field on Friday night. Here's how you can watch Game 1.
