The mortal struggle over the acceptable manner in which to round the bases continues apace. Take it away, Cubs and Marlins on Wednesday night ...
There are likely some pre-existing tensions here, as the Marlins, perhaps annoyed by Starlin Castro's somewhat admiring post-home run jaunt Tuesday night, plunked Mr. Castro on Wednesday night. So maybe this was Junior Lake's response to their possible response.
Anyway, one thing the Marlins probably didn't want to see was Jose Fernandez as one of the first guys off the bench and into the developing scrum. In the end, though, this battle was fought with the weaponry of hard stares and perhaps naughty words.
Developing, possibly.
