WATCH: JaCoby Jones' mom won't soon forget her son's first MLB hit
Mom and Dad were on hand to see JaCoby Jones' big-league debut for the Tigers on Tuesday
In time for Tuesday's eventual win over the White Sox, the Tigers called up INF/OF JaCoby Jones to add a bit of youthful enthusiasm to a flagging lineup. The 24-year-old's summoning wasn't exactly expected (per the AP, he didn't even find out until late Monday night), so his parents had to scramble to get from Mississippi to Detroit in time to see their son make his big-league debut. But make it there they did.
No matter how the game played out, their efforts would have been worth it, but as it turns out Jones wound up going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBI. You can probably guess that Jones' mom was pretty excited about the baseball events of note, but let's the moving pictures reinforce your suspicions ...
Yep, mamma bear's pretty fired up. Once more, for fitting emphasis ...

That's pretty cool. Also, for their troubles (and their airfares), Jones' parents got a little something to take back to Mississippi with them ...

Who knows what course Jones' major-league career takes from here, but needless to say what happened Tuesday night in Detroit will forever be a cherished memory. Let's let the ballplayer himself sum it up for you ...
"This is simply amazing. I don't know any other words to describe this. Just amazing."
Hear, hear.
