WATCH: The Giants are so hot right now, they even win on a walk-off pop up
Miscommunication between Padres defenders gave San Francisco its 10th win in 11 games.
No team in baseball is hotter right now than the San Francisco Giants. They beat the Padres on Monday night (SF 1, SD 0) for their third straight win and their 10th win in their last 11 games overall. Only the Cubs (29) have more wins than the Giants (28) in 2016.
When you're as hot as the Giants, you seem to get all the breaks. They won Monday's game on a walk-off pop-up that was not caught because of miscommunication between Matt Kemp and Alexi Amarista. Check it out:
That's not quite a Luis Castillo walk-off pop-up blunder -- Castillo had the ball clank off his glove as part of his infamous dropped pop-up against the Yankees in 2009 -- but it's close. It looked like Kemp expected Amarista to catch it and Amarista expected Kemp to catch it it. D'oh!
The win, which was San Francisco's second straight 1-0 victory, improved their record to 28-19 on the season. They're currently 4 1/2 games up on the rival Dodgers in the NL West.
