WATCH: Wil Myers hits eye-bulging home run off building as part of two-homer game
Myers improved his All-Star case with a two-homer day
Earlier on Wednesday, Padres manager Andy Green mentioned first baseman-slash-outfielder Wil Myers as someone who deserved All-Star Game consideration from fans.
"From a fan voting perspective, I think you're seeing Matt Kemp and Wil Myers start to heat up," the manager said, per the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I know they both went through some rough Mays, but you're seeing them really start to swing the bats well right now."
Whether you agree with Green or not -- Myers entered the day with a 119 OPS+, fourth-highest among National League first basemen -- Myers helped his case with two long home runs against the Braves.

Myers hasn't lived up to his prospect hype for a number of reasons -- including some durability issues and the fact he's slid down the defensive spectrum -- but he's having a good 2016. To wit, those homers on Wednesday gave him five for the month and 12 for the season -- one away from his career-high.
And who knows, with a few more days like this one over the next month, Myers just might make his first All-Star appearance.
