MMA fighter suffers fractured skull after catching flying knee in KO loss
Cyborg Santos is still awaiting surgery to have his head repaired
Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos is currently under doctor supervision and awaiting surgery to repair his fractured skull, according to MMAFighting.com.
Santos was the victim of a devastating flying knee from Michael Page at Bellator 158 in London on Saturday. Page celebrated with a Pokemon hat and by rolling a Poke ball at Santos.
It was a scary moment for sure because once Santos hit the mat, he was grabbing at his head and writhing on the ground in pain. He was still conscious, so it was a typical knockout.
"I'm under observation now, and will have surgery in the United States," Santos said to MMA Fighting. "I had a serious injury, but Bellator is giving me all the support I need."
Santos will likely be out of action for quite some time while he recovers from this injury. Santos' ex-wife, Cris "Cyborg" Justino, posted on Instagram that she will help start a GoFundMe to help pay for his medical expenses.
