UFC 205 tickets: New York event sets new record for prices on secondary market
UFC's first visit to Madison Square Garden has created a frenzy for tickets
Saturday night's UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden will be the first mixed martial arts event in New York City, and that has created a massive demand for tickets.
Not only is it the first UFC event in New York, but UFC 205 features one of the best cards in the company's history, headlined by Conor McGregor against Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title. Any card with McGregor creates a significant demand for tickets on the secondary market, but UFC 205 is by far the most sought after UFC ticket ever.
According to Ticket City, the median ticket price on the secondary market for UFC 205 is $971, more than $300 more than UFC 200, which had previously held the record for median price at $657. With UFC 205 included, four of the six most in-demand tickets on the secondary market in UFC history will be the last four McGregor fights -- UFC 194 ($600), UFC 189 ($502) and UFC 196 ($420).
It's also interesting to note that the max sale price currently on Ticket City for the event is $12,550, which is expected to rise as we get closer to Saturday. UFC 200 set the bar high with a max sale of $17,789 on the secondary market, followed by, you guessed it, McGregor's last fight at UFC 202, fetching $13,500.
