Before Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith rode into Quicken Loans Arena on a PhunkeeDuck, a motorized two-wheel scooter.

Although his entrance to the game was grand, Smith had his worst performance of the Finals, scoring four points on 2-for-12 shooting from the field. The Cavs also were absolutely dominated by the Golden State Warriors in that game, losing by 21 points.

Not to say that Smith's PhunkeeDuck correlates with his poor play, but in an effort to be a more serious and focused team, the Cavs have banned their players from riding Hoverboards.

From Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com:

Those Hoverboards some players cruised around on through the corridors of The Q during The Finals and during preseason play, the organization banned them from the arena, cleveland.com was informed.

This is not surprising to hear, as LeBron James has constantly been on the Cavs' case this season. After a few inconsistent games, James held a team meeting to make sure everyone got on the same page of making a return trip to the Finals. James has even made the Cavs stop participating in starting lineup introductions, opting to instead focus on the game at hand.

James is just flat-out not messing around this season. He knows how talented the Cavs are and how great they can actually become, if everything works in their favor. So while getting rid of PhunkeeDucks and Hoverboards sounds a bit silly, it could actually be a small thing that helps the Cavs keep their eyes on the prize of a NBA championship.
