Duke's Brandon Ingram will reportedly be the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers. According to ESPN, the Lakers will select Ingram with the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft:

Barring a last-minute blockbuster trade offer, the Los Angeles Lakers intend to select Duke freshman Brandon Ingram with the second pick in the 2016 NBA draft on Thursday night, league sources told ESPN.

The Lakers spent three hours huddled with new head coach Luke Walton on Tuesday night before signaling to multiple league sources that Ingram would be their choice if the Sixers select Ben Simmons with the No. 1 pick.

...

The Lakers believe that Ingram is a great fit for the organization and a potential All-Star player down the road.

Ingram to the Lakers has been the expected selection since the lottery order was revealed in May. And now it is basically a done deal because the Sixers have reportedly already told LSU's Ben Simmons that they will select him with the No. 1 overall pick.

Ingram should thrive on the Lakers as CBS Sports' Sam Vecenie explains:

Putting him in between D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle helps with a lot of their problems as players, and should put them in a stronger position to succeed. Plus, his ability to attack switches both inside and out should play well with Luke Walton's scheme coming from Golden State. Ingram is the perfect prospect coming along at the perfect time in the NBA, and it'll be fascinating to see his career play out.

With new coach Luke Walton, D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and now Ingram, the Lakers have plenty of potential and seem to be on the proper path heading into the future.
