Russell Westbrook honored by Allen Iverson's praise
Game recognize game.

Recently retired NBA great Allen Iverson gave props to Russell Westbrook by saying that he is the Thunder guard's biggest fan. Westbrook was recently asked about Iverson's praise and justifiably was honored that The Answer thought so highly of him.

"It is a definitely a honor. Iverson did a lot of great things in the league and a lot of great things for the city of Philadelphia."
Westbrook being Westbrook showed little emotion when responding but did give a little sarcastic jab at the reporter's follow up question.
Russell Westbrook asked about Allen Iverson's comments, and if he watched AI: "Nah, I didn't watch much basketball growing up."

Of course Westbrook actually watched basketball growing up and as Lang Whitaker found out for GQ in 2013, Magic Johnson was his favorite player.
GQ: And were you a Laker fan growing up? Or the Clippers?
Russell Westbrook: You know what? My dad and my Mom were Lakers fans, but I wasn't like a die-hard Lakers fan, not really. I was kind of a fan, but not die-hard. I was definitely a basketball fan, but my first sport was football.GQ: Who was your basketball idol growing up?
Russell Westbrook: Magic Johnson was my favorite player growing up.
Just like Iverson, Westbrook has his own unique way of dealing with the media. No wonder, Iverson thinks so highly of him.
