WATCH: Kevin Love scores 34 points in first quarter for Cavaliers, sets NBA record
Love absolutely torches the Trail Blazers by hitting eight 3-pointers and scoring 34 points in the first quarter
Kevin Love came to play on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Starting off hot and not losing his touch throughout the first, Love finished the quarter with 34 points. That's the most ever scored in the first quarter of an NBA game.
The Blazers have the worst defense in the league and they just had no answer for Love. The Cavs big man finished the quarter shooting 11 for 14 from the field, 8 for 10 from deep and 4 for 4 from the line. Love's eight 3-pointers is also a Cavs franchise record for the most made in a single quarter. Cleveland wound up with 46 points in the quarter and Love outscored the Blazers all by himself, as Portland scored just 31 points.
Here is a look of Love's shot cart, which is just filled with green:

Love finished three points shy of Klay Thompson's record-setting 37-point quarter, which the Warriors All-Star set in January 2015. If he keeps it up, Love could possibly catch Thompson's Warriors teammate Stephen Curry's NBA record of 13 treys in a single game.
