Andre James: Officially cut by Las Vegas
The Raiders released James on Wednesday.
The move was expected, and it's now official. If designated as a post-June 1 cut, the move clears $3.15 million in cap space for the Raiders but leaves behind more than $5.5 million in dead money. If Las Vegas is taking the cap hit all at once and making James a straight cut, the team clears just over $1.4 million while incurring more than $7.2 million in dead money charges. James played just one season of his three-year, $24 million contract and started 11 games in 2024.

Raiders' Andre James: Set to be released
James is expected to be released by the Raiders after the new league year begins Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
James will hit the open market as soon as Wednesday after making 60 starts with Las Vegas over the last six seasons. The 27-year-old will almost certainly get another shot to earn a starting role elsewhere in 2025.

Raiders' Andre James: Iffy for Week 12
James (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant on Friday's injury report and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
James has been sidelined for the Raiders' last two regular-season games due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 8 against the Chiefs. James was a DNP on Wednesday, but he earned the questionable tag for Sunday's game after logging consecutive limited practices to end the week. If he's unable to play, Jackson Powers-Johnson will start at center for a third straight game.

Raiders' Andre James: Ruled out for Week 11
James (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
James suffered an ankle injury in Week 8 against the Chiefs, which forced him to be held out for Week 9 against the Bengals. Even with the extra rest courtesy of the Raiders' Week 10 bye, James was unable to practice all week, and he will be sidelined for a third consecutive game as a result. Jackson Powers-Johnson will continue to start at center in James' absence.
