Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Active in Week 18, despite illness
Godwin (illness) is listed as active Saturday against the Panthers, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Tampa Bay added Godwin to its Week 18 injury report Saturday due to an illness but at the same time didn't give him a game status, implying that he was expected to play. Now that that has been confirmed, Godwin will be available as the Bucs seek a win, plus a Falcons loss or tie to the Saints on Sunday, to officially win the NFC South and thus the No. 4 playoff seed in the conference. He's logged between 64 and 96 percent of the offensive snaps over the last five games en route to a 24-291-2 line on 32 targets during that span.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Under the weather, playing Saturday
Godwin was added to the Buccaneers' injury report due to an illness but does not have an injury status heading into Saturday's NFC South clash against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The illness won't prevent Godwin from playing in Saturday's regular-season finale, which will determine who wins the NFC South division title and enters the playoffs as the conference's fourth seed. If Godwin's playing time is limited due to the illness, then Jalen McMillan and Emeka Egbuka would be in line to see more snaps on offense alongside Mike Evans. Godwin is coming off his best performance of the season in a Week 17 loss to the Dolphins, catching seven passes (on eight targets) for 108 yards and a touchdown.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Season-best numbers in loss
Godwin brought in seven of eight targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Godwin tied Jalen McMillan for the team lead in receptions -- one of them a five-yard touchdown grab to open the scoring in the first quarter -- while checking in as the runner-up to his teammate in both receiving yards and targets. The veteran wideout compiled more than half his yardage on a 59-yard catch-and-run play with just under two minutes remaining in the game. Godwin has at least five receptions in three of his last four games, and a similar caliber of production would be very welcome in a critical Week 18 home matchup against the Panthers that presents a chance for the Bucs to still win the division, with a Week 18 win coupled with a Falcons loss in one of the next two games.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Ready for Sunday
Godwin (fibula) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Miami.
Godwin opened Week 17 prep Wednesday with a limited session due to his lingering fibula injury before being listed as a DNP for rest purposes on Thursday's estimated practice report. He then logged a full practice Friday, clearing him to suit up this weekend. Godwin has earned at least a 60 percent snap share in four straight games, a stretch in which he's tallied a 17-183-1 line on 24 targets.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Gets rest day Thursday
Godwin (fibula/rest) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's estimated injury report, per Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site.
After Godwin was limited at Wednesday's practice due to his lingering fibula injury, he received a rest day one day later. Friday's practice report will reveal if he's able to enter the weekend without a designation for Sunday's game at Miami. Godwin has compiled a modest 19-192-1 line on 28 targets over the last five contests after sitting out Weeks 6-11.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Limited Wednesday
Godwin (fibula) was limited at Wednesday's practice.
Godwin has been dealing with the residual effects of a fibula injury since Week 5, but since his return to action Week 12, he's been able to suit up for each of the Buccaneers' last five games, accumulating a 19-192-1 line on 28 targets during that stretch. His limitations Wednesday likely are related to maintenance, and he'll have two more chances to get back to full before Sunday's contest at Miami.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Does little with five catches
Godwin brought in five of six targets for 30 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Godwin was able to draw even with Mike Evans for the team lead in receptions and was second to his teammate in targets, but he once again was contained to a very modest yardage total. Godwin has eclipsed 55 receiving yards just once in seven games, making him a risky fantasy proposition in a Week 17 road matchup against the Dolphins despite the favorable matchup.
