Browns need more out of Paul Kruger
by Larry Hartstein |

Browns outside linebacker Paul Kruger managed 4.5 sacks last season, nine fewer than he posted in 2012 for the Ravens. He ranked second on the Browns with 11 tackles for loss.

Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said getting more out of Kruger is a priority.

"(Kruger) had a special year in Baltimore when they won the Super Bowl," Pettine said, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "A lot of people think he took a step backward last year. We’re looking forward to getting with Paul and seeing what makes him tick and seeing if we can get him going."

Disappointing Paul Kruger admits to feeling pressure
by Marty Gitlin |

Browns outside linebacker Paul Kruger had admitted that the pressure of performing up to his free agent contract has played a role in his lack of production.

Kruger was signed after recording nine sacks with Baltimore in 2012, including 7 1/2 in the last eight games, and adding 4 1/2 more in the playoffs to help the Ravens win the Super Bowl. But he had just two for the Browns before doubling that total in their Week 14 game in New England.

"Not only do I put high standards up for myself, but you come in with a high bar and you want to live up to those," he told the team website. "People have been great to me here and for me, I feel a personal responsibility to be a good player and to produce. So, yeah, there's definitely been some pressure I've felt."

Kruger, who has contributed 36 total tackles, went five games without a sack before registering two against the Patriots.
