Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Buries empty-netter
Cizikas scored an empty-net goal and dished out three hits in Thursday's 6-3 win over Colorado.
Cizikas placed the finishing touch on Thursday's big win over the Avalanche, as the Islanders became just the second team to beat Colorado in regulation this season. With the empty-net tally, the 34-year old center is up to two goals, six points and 60 hits through 28 games this season. Cizikas has stayed his usual course this season and if he can stay healthy, he should finish in the 15-25 point range for the fifth consecutive season. He continues to see added value in fantasy leagues that value banger stats, as his 68 hits project him to finish with over 200 by the end of the season. It would be his second consecutive season doubling the century mark in hits, but his lackluster offensive output and sub-10 minutes of ice time per game make other options more appealing in fantasy than Cizikas.

Islanders' Adam Pelech: Ends point drought with goal
Pelech scored a goal, put two shots on target and blocked a shot in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche.
Pelech ended a 16-game point drought Thursday with a goal near the midway point of the second period, which gave the Isles a 4-0 lead. With the twine finder, Pelech grabbed his first goal of the season and is up to three points, 42 shots on goal and 43 blocks through 28 games this season. While the 11-year NHL veteran isn't known for his goal scoring, he's reached the 15-point mark in each of the past four seasons and is at risk of losing that streak this year. Despite losing many of his playmaking responsibilities to rookie sensation Matthew Schaefer, Pelech is still averaging 20 minutes of ice time per game and has the opportunity to bounce back while skating on the Islanders' second defensive pairing. He's best left on waivers in fantasy for the time being, but if he starts to find the scoresheet with some consistency, he could have some streaming value in deep fantasy leagues due to his solid category coverage.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Goal streak at three games
Horvat tallied a goal, recorded an assist, fired six shots on net and blocked three shots in Thursday's 6-3 win over Colorado.
Horvat continued his elite goal-scoring campaign Thursday with an even strength tally to open up the second period. He also picked up a secondary helper late in the period on Matthew Barzal's power-play goal. With the pair of points, Horvat has 17 goals, 12 assists and 100 shots on goal through 28 games this season. He has found the back of the net more than most players this season, as the 30-year-old center is currently tied for fifth in goals across the NHL. He's not only on pace for the best goal-scoring numbers of his career, but could also set a new career high in points if he can surpass the 70 he accumulated during the 2022-23 campaign. As long as he continues to fire the puck with an elite volume of attempts on goal, Horvat could make the 2025-26 season one of the best scoring seasons for the Islanders in recent years.

Islanders' Jonathan Drouin: Day-to-day
Drouin (back) is day-to-day and will travel on the Islanders' two-game road trip to Florida this weekend, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports Friday.
Drouin was a late scratch Thursday against the Avalanche, as Maxim Tsyplakov took his spot in the lineup. Head coach Patrick Roy said Friday that Drouin woke up with the injury. Drouin has three goals and 12 assists in 26 appearances this season. He could return to action as early as Saturday versus Tampa Bay.

Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Trio of points Thursday
Barzal scored a goal, dished out two assists, placed four shots on goal, served two PIM and had two hits in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche.
Barzal had a fantastic performance in both offensive areas. He registered two assists and scored a power-play goal where he deked and dangled through Colorado's defense before lifting a backhanded shot past Mackenzie Blackwood. With the trio of tallies, the 28-year-old center is up to eight goals, 13 points and 69 shots on net through 27 games this season. He not only continues to produce plays worthy of highlight reels, but he has also been a consistent name found on the Islanders' scoresheet. With 21 points, he trails fellow center Bo Horvat for the team lead in points. Barzal has already passed the 20-point campaign he had through 30 games a year ago, and he's on track for the fifth 60-plus point season of his career if he can stay healthy.

Islanders' Anders Lee: One of each Thursday
Lee netted a goal, registered an assist and fired four shots on target in Thursday's 6-3 win over Colorado.
Lee grabbed the second goal of the game for the Isles before he assisted Adam Pelech's tally in the second period. With the pair of points, Lee is up to six goals, nine assists, 74 shots on net and 26 hits through 28 games this season. The 14-year NHL veteran is currently behind the 50-plus point pace that he's accustomed to, but has four points and 23 shots on goal in his last seven games, showcasing that he hasn't lost his ability to create goal-scoring opportunities. His current fantasy value is best in deep leagues, but his extensive track record makes him a decent player to hold onto in most formats.

Islanders' Ryan Pulock: Pair of helpers in win
Pulock tallied two assists, put two shots on goal and blocked five shots in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche.
Pulock slid the primary helper on Kyle MacLean's opening goal before later assisting Bo Horvat's tally in the second period. With the pair of apples, Pulock is up to 13 assists, 34 shots on goal, 24 hits and 48 blocks through 28 games this season. While the 31-year-old defenseman is still in the hunt for his first goal of the season, he has provided excellent category coverage as of late with four assists, six shots on goal, six hits and 12 blocks in his last four contests. He lacks the goal-scoring upside that most successful defensemen in fantasy hockey have, but Pulock has value in deep leagues that value categories rather than points while playing alongside Matthew Schaefer on the Isles' top defensive pairing.

Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Grabs first goal this season
MacLean scored a goal, placed three shots on net and dished out two hits in Thursday's 6-3 win over Colorado.
MacLean helped spark the Islanders' offense from the early stages of Thursday's contest with a goal under six minutes into regulation. The twine finder was the 26-year-old forward's first goal of the season, which brings his totals up to two points, 12 shots on net and 28 hits through 14 games this year. MacLean was a healthy scratch from Nov. 8-26, but scored his first point since his return to the lineup four games ago. With 12 hits in that span, he'll look to provide value to New York's fourth line in the absence of Jonathan Drouin (lower-body) and Jean-Gabriel Pageau (upper-body).

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Solid effort in win
Sorokin stopped 35 shots on 38 attempts on net in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche.
Sorokin tended a clean first 28 minutes before he allowed back-to-back goals midway through the second period. Outside of one more goal inside the first two minutes of the third period, he cruised to his second consecutive win. With the victory, the 30-year-old netminder is up to a 9-8-2 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.60 GAA through 19 appearances this year. His 35 saves Thursday were one stop shy of his season-high, proving he can help guide the Islanders to a run-and-gun win. After a sluggish start to the season, Sorokin has been on fire in his last nine starts with five wins, a 1.81 GAA and a .932 save percentage. He should be rostered in nearly all two-goalie fantasy formats moving forward with the Isles' just two points out of a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division. His next chance to take the ice is Saturday against Tampa Bay, who would welcome the chance to see Sorokin again after he tended a 30-save statement win over the Lightning Tuesday.

Islanders' Jonathan Drouin: Late scratch Thursday
Drouin (lower body) was a late scratch for Thursday's game against Colorado.
Drouin has three goals and 15 points in 26 outings this season. He's considered day-to-day, so it remains to be seen if he'll play Saturday or Sunday against Tampa Bay or Florida, respectively. Maxim Tsyplakov, who might have otherwise been a healthy scratch Thursday, is in the lineup against the Avalanche.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: First goalie off Thursday
Sorokin was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Avalanche.
Sorokin was in the starter's crease during morning skate, so it isn't very particularly surprising to see him draw the start against Colorado. He put an end to a three-game losing streak Tuesday against the Lightning, turning aside 30 of 31 shots (.968 save percentage) in a 2-1 victory. He started on the road against Colorado on Nov. 16, and he allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 save percentage) en route to a 4-1 loss.

Islanders' Adam Pelech: Steady defense, no offense
Pelech's point drought reached 16 games in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
During that slump, Pelech has a plus-4 rating and 27 blocked shots. The 31-year-old has been entrusted with top-four minutes this season, but he's leaning even more into a shutdown role than in previous years. He's at two assists, 40 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 14 hits and a plus-7 rating across 27 appearances this season.

Islanders' Anthony Duclair: Snaps 14-game goal drought
Duclair scored a goal Tuesday in a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay.
It stood as the game-winning marker. Early in the third, Duclair poked the puck away from Pontus Holmberg to teammate Calum Ritchie, who quickly whipped it back to the winger. Duclair one-timed it from the edge of the left circle and beat Andrei Vasilevskiy blocker side. It was Duclair's first goal since Nov. 4 (14 games; four assists). The 30-year-old Duclair has just four goals and five assists in 27 games this season, and he needs to be left on the wire. His opportunity to step into a scoring role on the Island simply hasn't worked.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Among NHL's top snipers right now
Horvat scored a goal in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Tuesday.
Horvat opened the scoring just 55 seconds into the second frame when he followed his own shot and stuffed in the rebound. It was his 16th goal of the season, which moved him into a tie for fifth in the NHL. Horvat now has a goal in each of his last two games (seven shots). He's flirting with a 50-goal pace, which would obliterate his career mark of 38 that he set in the 2022-23 regular season between Vancouver and Long Island.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Spectacular in win over Tampa
Sorokin made 27 saves in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Tuesday.
Sorokin carried a shutout to the 16:26 mark of the third period when Dominic James curled out from below the goal line and banked a wrist shot off his glove. Sorokin was spectacular at times, including a filthy left pad save on an Anthony Cirelli backhand in the second period after the Bolts pivot got behind the Isles D. The 30-year-old Sorokin ended Tampa's seven-game winning streak and snapped his own three-game losing streak in the process.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Poised to play
DeAngelo (illness) is expected to play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, according to Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.
DeAngelo won't miss any playing time after being called a game-time decision. He has one goal, eight assists, 45 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and 12 hits in 26 appearances this season.

Islanders' Cole Eiserman: Gets weekly award
Eiserman was named one of Hockey East's Co-Players of the Week on Tuesday.
Eiserman got the honor for his game-winning goal and assist for Boston University in a 2-1 win over Cornell University on Saturday. Through 11 games this season, Eiserman has seven goals and three assists, as well as a minus-4 rating. The 19-year-old winger is producing at roughly the same pace as last year, which is mildly discouraging considering his goal-scoring talent and added experience. Nonetheless, he's still a key part of the Terriers' offense this season.
