Barcelona wins La Liga over Real Madrid thanks to Suarez hat trick

Barcelona is the champion in Spain after a 3-0 win at Granada.

Barcelona is the champion of La Liga yet again. Needing to hold off Real Madrid while visiting Granada on Saturday on the last matchday of the season, a hat trick from Luis Suarez was more than enough as the Catalan club won 3-0 to clinch the crown. With Real Madrid beating Deportivo 2-0, the pressure was on Barca to get three points, as a draw or loss would have seen Cristiano Ronaldo and company claim the throne in Spain.

After a bit of a slow start, Suarez got open twice in a short span, scoring in the 22nd minute and the 38th to give the visitors a comfortable lead. Granada rarely threatened, allowing Barca to relax a bit in the second half on its way to victory. Suarez also clinched the Pichichi trophy with his performance.

It's Barcelona's third La Liga title in the last four seasons and it's eighth since 2004.
