The Eastern Michigan Eagles are 3-9 against the Akron Zips since January of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. EMU and Akron will face off in a Mid-American battle at 7 p.m. ET at James A. Rhodes Arena. The teams split their matchups last year, with the Eagles winning the first 71-59 at home and Akron taking the second 86-65.

EMU came up short against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Tuesday, falling 56-47.
