An ACC battle is on tap between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Clemson Tigers at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. Notre Dame is out to keep their six-game home win streak alive.

It was a close one, but this past Saturday the Fighting Irish sidestepped the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for a 72-68 win. Four players on Notre Dame scored in the double digits: guard Blake Wesley (22), forward Paul Atkinson (16), guard Dane Goodwin (14), and guard Prentiss Hubb (10).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Clemson beat the NC State Wolfpack 70-65 this past Saturday. Clemson's success was spearheaded by the efforts of guard Al-Amir Dawes, who had 16 points along with five rebounds, and forward PJ Hall, who had 20 points in addition to five boards and four blocks.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Notre Dame is expected to win a tight contest. But bettors beware: they are only 3-6 against the spread when favored.

Their wins bumped the Fighting Irish to 9-5 and the Tigers to 10-5. In their victory, Notre Dame relied heavily on Paul Atkinson, who had 16 points in addition to seven boards. Clemson will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
