An ACC battle is on tap between the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 5 p.m. ET Saturday at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. Notre Dame will be strutting in after a victory while Georgia Tech will be stumbling in from a defeat.

It was close but no cigar for the Yellow Jackets as they fell 62-58 to the Virginia Tech Hokies on Wednesday. Georgia Tech's loss came about despite a quality game from guard Michael Devoe, who had 18 points in addition to five rebounds.

Speaking of close games: the Syracuse Orange typically have all the answers at home, but on Wednesday the Fighting Irish proved too difficult a challenge. Notre Dame came out on top against 'Cuse by a score of 79-69. Notre Dame got double-digit scores from four players: forward Paul Atkinson (20), forward Nate Laszewski (17), guard Cormac Ryan (16), and guard Blake Wesley (13).

The Yellow Jackets are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.

Georgia Tech's loss took them down to 11-18 while Notre Dame's win pulled them up to 21-8. Paul Atkinson will be someone to keep an eye on after he posted a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards on Wednesday. Let's see if he can build on that strong performance or if Georgia Tech's defense can bottle him up.
