The San Francisco Dons and the Pepperdine Waves are set to square off in a West Coast matchup at 7:30 p.m. ET Jan. 22 at Firestone Fieldhouse. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

The contest between San Francisco and the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Thursday was not a total blowout, but with the Dons falling 78-62 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. A silver lining for San Francisco was the play of guard Jamaree Bouyea, who had 25 points along with eight boards.

Meanwhile, Pepperdine was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 85-80 to the Loyola Marymount Lions. Despite the defeat, Pepperdine got a solid performance out of forward Jan Zidek, who had 28 points.

San Francisco is the favorite in this one, with an expected 14-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread on Thursday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
