The Santa Clara Broncos have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the San Francisco Dons and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 23 of 2019. The Broncos and San Francisco will face off in a West Coast battle at 7 p.m. ET Saturday at War Memorial Gymnasium. Santa Clara isn't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.

Santa Clara skirted by the Brigham Young Cougars 77-76 on Thursday thanks to a clutch half-court bomb from guard Jalen Williams with 0:01 left to play. Williams and forward Parker Braun were among the main playmakers for Santa Clara as the former had 26 points and the latter posted a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

San Francisco lost a heartbreaker to the Saint Mary's Gaels when they met last January, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. The Dons fell in a 72-70 heartbreaker. The contest was as close as the oddsmakers predicted, but they had been the slight favorite coming in. The losing side was boosted by forward Yauhen Massalski, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards in addition to seven blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Massalski has had at least ten rebounds.

The Broncos are now 13-7 while San Francisco sits at 16-5. Santa Clara is 8-4 after wins this season, and the Dons are 3-1 after losses.
