The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Lamar Cardinals at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Dugan Wellness Center. The teams split their matchups last year, with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi winning the first 77-68 at home and Lamar taking the second 66-47.

The Islanders came up short against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Tuesday, falling 79-71. Trevian Tennyson wasn't much of a difference maker for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi; Tennyson finished with 11 points on 5-for-17 shooting in his 25 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, Lamar was expected to have a tough go of it on Wednesday, and, well, they did. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 67-47 punch to the gut against the Texas State-San Marcos Bobcats.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is the favorite in this one, with an expected 8.5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.

Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses this week. If the Cardinals want to win, they will need to focus on stopping the Islanders' guard Jalen Jackson, who had 15 points along with five steals, and guard Terrion Murdix, who had 18 points in addition to five rebounds. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
