What to Know

After a two-game homestand, the Pittsburgh Panthers will be on the road. Pitt and the Virginia Tech Hokies will face off in an ACC battle at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday at Cassell Coliseum. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

The Panthers were just a bucket shy of a win on Tuesday and fell 68-67 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Despite the defeat, Pitt got a solid performance out of forward John Hugley, who had 18 points along with six boards.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech lost to the Duke Blue Devils on the road by a decisive 76-65 margin. Guard Hunter Cattoor had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with ten points on 4-for-10 shooting in his 35 minutes on the court.

The losses put Pitt at 5-8 and Virginia Tech at a reciprocal 8-5. A couple stats to keep an eye on: The Panthers are eighth worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 61.2 on average. The Hokies' defense has more to brag about, as they they come into the matchup boasting the 12th fewest points allowed per game in college basketball at 58.
