Who's Playing
Louisiana @ No. 14 Houston
Current Records: Louisiana 5-4; Houston 8-2
What to Know
The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the #14 Houston Cougars at 8 p.m. ET Dec. 14 at Fertitta Center. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
The Ragin Cajuns came up short against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs this past Saturday, falling 78-69.
Meanwhile, Houston was just a bucket short of a win this past Saturday and fell 83-82 to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite the loss, Houston had strong showings from forward Josh Carlton, who had 14 points in addition to six boards and three blocks, and forward J'Wan Roberts, who had nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Louisiana is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 0-2-1 ATS when expected to lose.
The losses put Louisiana at 5-4 and Houston at 8-2. Two stats to keep an eye on: The Ragin Cajuns have allowed their opponents an average of 8.8 steals per game, the 11th most in college basketball. To make matters even worse for Louisiana, the Cougars rank eighth in college basketball when it comes to steals per game, with 10.7 on average. In other words, Louisiana will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
