What to Know

The Indiana Hoosiers and the #13 Ohio State Buckeyes will face off in a Big Ten clash at 7 p.m. ET Jan. 6 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers are out to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.

It was close but no cigar for IU as they fell 61-58 to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday. IU's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who had 20 points along with five rebounds, and forward Race Thompson, who had nine points in addition to ten boards.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes bagged an 87-79 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday. Guard Malaki Branham took over for OSU, finishing with 35 points (a whopping 40% of their total) in addition to six boards.

Barring any buzzer beaters, IU is expected to win a tight contest Thursday. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Sunday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

IU is now 10-3 while OSU sits at 9-2. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Hoosiers have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 35.40%, which places them third in college basketball. But the Buckeyes come into the contest boasting the 15th highest field goal percentage in college basketball at 48.90%. We'll see which of these strengths -- offense or defense -- will win out.
