What to Know

The #1 Baylor Bears are 10-3 against the #8 Iowa State Cyclones since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. Baylor and the Cyclones will face off in a Big 12 battle at 2 p.m. ET at James H. Hilton Coliseum. Both teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Baylor couldn't have asked for better way to wrap up 2021 than the 104-68 stomp they got at home against the NW State Demons on Tuesday. Baylor relied on the efforts of guard James Akinjo, who had 27 points and nine assists in addition to five rebounds, and guard Adam Flagler, who shot 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and finished with a double-double on 21 points and 11 assists.

Meanwhile, Iowa State took their matchup at home last Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-48 win over the Chicago State Cougars. Iowa State can attribute much of their success to guard Izaiah Brockington, who posted a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, and guard Tristan Enaruna, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.

The Bears are the favorite in this one, with an expected 8.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Tuesday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 12-0. Both Baylor and the Cyclones have easy wins in recent memory. We'll see which one's ego takes a hit when they face off.
