Who's Playing

Oregon State @ Washington

Current Records: Oregon State 3-26; Washington 15-14

What to Know

The Oregon State Beavers and the Washington Huskies are set to square off in a Pac-12 matchup at 7:30 p.m. ET March 5 at Alaska Airlines Arena. Washington will be strutting in after a victory while the Beavers will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Oregon State was close but no cigar on Thursday as they fell 71-67 to the Washington State Cougars. One thing holding Oregon State back was the mediocre play of forward Glenn Taylor Jr., who did not have his best game: he picked up four fouls and turned the ball over five times en route to a 3-for-10, 7-point finish.

Meanwhile, Washington didn't have too much trouble with the Oregon Ducks at home on Thursday as they won 78-67. Washington's success was spearheaded by the efforts of forward Emmitt Matthews Jr., who had 25 points along with six rebounds, and guard Terrell Brown Jr., who had 25 points. Matthews Jr. had some trouble finding his footing against the UCLA Bruins on Monday, so this was a step in the right direction. Matthews Jr.'s points were the most he has had all season.

The Beavers are expected to lose this next one by 9.5. They hadn't treated bettors all too well in the past (they are 9-19-1), but they might be worth taking a chance on now after beating the spread two games in a row.

Oregon State is now 3-26 while the Huskies sit at 15-14. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Oregon State has allowed their opponents to shoot 47.30% from the floor on average, which is the fourth highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. Washington has experienced some struggles of their own as they have only been able to knock down 40.90% percent of their shots, which is the 29th lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
