Trent has turned in solid performances since being relegated to the bench, averaging 10.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.2 threes on a 43.3 percent clip across 27.5 minutes in his last six appearances with the second unit. Jericho Sims started this contest, but Trent replaced the big man in the first five to begin the second half. With the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (groin), Trent is needed to step up offensively, but his usage will likely decrease when the former returns.

Bucks' Gary Trent: Starts second half Thursday
Trent ended Thursday's 123-114 overtime loss to Philadelphia with 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt), two assists and one steal across 38 minutes.
Head coach Doc Rivers experimented with his lineup in the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (groin), starting Trent over Bobby Portis to begin the second half. Trent should certainly have more opportunities to produce while Antetokounmpo is on the shelf, making him worth a look in deep category leagues for the time being. For the season, the veteran sharpshooter has averaged 10.3 points, 2.0 assists, 1.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.3 three-pointers in 16 games.

It was an efficient shooting display by Trent, who has now managed to score in double figures in five of his first six games to start the season. The swingman should remain a viable source of threes and steals for fantasy managers in category-based settings. Trent has averaged 14.0 points, 2.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 3.0 three-pointers in 29.2 minutes per game this year.

Trent finished Friday's 122-116 win over the Raptors with 20 points (7-15 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds and four assists over 29 minutes.
Trent was one of three Bucks players to score 20-plus points in Friday's win, and most of his damage came from deep with four triples. The eight-year pro is off to a nice start to the season, averaging 18.5 points while going 9-for-22 from deep through the first two games. Trent's role in the offense could expand even more if Kyle Kuzma is sidelined due to an ankle sprain that he sustained in the fourth quarter of Friday's game.

Trent, who returned to the Bucks during the offseason on a two-year, $7.5 million bargain-bin deal, started this game and got plenty of looks from beyond the arc. Kevin Porter left this game early with an ankle issue and could miss time, making Trent even more important for his ability to space the floor. His overall upside isn't the greatest, but he's an excellent source of points, three-pointers and steals when he's in form.
