Trent amassed 24 points (9-17 FG, 6-10 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block across 35 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 125-116 victory over the Knicks. Trent did the majority of his scoring from beyond the arc, tying his best mark of the season with six made triples. He's now reached the 20-point threshold in three of his last four contests, and he's also collected a block in three straight appearances and multiple steals in four straight outings.... See More ... Raptors' Gary Trent: Scores well, brings defense in loss
Trent finished with 22 points (9-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in 38 minutes in Saturday's 106-104 loss to the Celtics. With Fred VanVleet (ribs) sitting out Saturday and OG Anunoby (ankle) exiting the contest early, Trent cleared 15 field-goal attempts for the third game in a row and was generally efficient. Perhaps more notable than his scoring contributions were his outputs in the two defensive categories. While the two blocks aren't something that Trent will frequently replicate -- he's averaging just 0.3 per game this season -- he remains an elite source of steals. He's recorded at least one steal in each of his last 15 games and is averaging 2.1 per game over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Versatile contributor Tuesday
Trent logged 28 points (10-19 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four steals, three rebounds and two assists across 43 minutes during Tuesday's 130-122 loss to Milwaukee. Trent was held to a single-digit scoring total Saturday against Atlanta, but he's bounced back nicely over his two appearances since then. He's played at least 42 minutes in back-to-back outings and logged his highest scoring total since Jan. 2 during Tuesday's defeat. Over his 10 appearances since rejoining the starting lineup, the 24-year-old has averaged 23.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 37.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Gets back on track
Trent finished Monday's 123-121 overtime win over the Knicks with 18 points (6-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 42 minutes. Trent did a good chunk of his damage from beyond the arc in this one, as he scored 12 of 18 points from deep. The Duke product was held to seven points in his last game Saturday against the Hawks, but he managed to bounce back Monday. He's put together an impressive stretch of late by scoring 18 or more points in 10 of his last 11 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Productive in Tuesday's win
Trent supplied 24 points (6-14 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 8-8 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 132-120 win over the Hornets. Since moving back into the starting lineup six games ago, Trent has caught fire, averaging 26.5 points, 3.8 boards, 3.7 threes, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists while shooting 40.0 percent (22-for-55) from beyond the arc. With the Raptors running out of time to turn their season around, Trent's name has consistently come up in trade rumors, and the fifth-year guard's value seems to be peaking at the right time if the team does decide to move him.... Raptors' Gary Trent: Continues to shine offensively
Trent amassed 27 points (8-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 42 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to New York. Trent has been an absolute stud offensively for the Raptors of late, and his play has kicked into a new gear since being promoted to a starting role with four straight outings of at least 22 points. He's averaging 26.0 points per game in a six-game stretch during which he has scored at least 20 points each time out, and he's also doing it with efficiency since he's making 49.1 percent of his shots and 44.2 percent of his threes in that span.... Raptors' Gary Trent: Extends scoring streak
Trent contributed 22 points (8-23 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals across 45 minutes during Wednesday's 104-101 overtime loss to Milwaukee. Trent has scored at least 20 points in five games in a row and has been performing well as a starter, averaging 29.7 points per contest and shooting 47.6 percent from the field in his last three outings with the first unit. He opened the season in the starting lineup and moved to a bench role in late November, but given his recent performances, there's no reason to think his time as a starter will end any time soon.... Raptors' Gary Trent: Another big scoring effort
Trent finished with 32 points (11-18 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals over 40 minutes during Monday's 122-114 loss to the Pacers. That's now back-to-back games with more than 30 points for Trent, and four straight with 20-plus. The streaky wing missed four games just before Christmas with a quadriceps strain, but he's been productive on either side of his absence, averaging 20.8 points, 3.1 threes, 2.5 boards, 1.7 steals and 1.4 assists in his last 10 contests while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor, 44.9 percent from three-point range and 85.3 percent from the free-throw line.... Raptors' Gary Trent: Explodes for 35 points Friday
Trent ended with 35 points (11-22 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-9 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals over 39 minutes during Friday's 113-104 victory over the Suns. Trent has been producing well as a starter this season, but he had one of his best performances of the campaign Friday, as he carried the Raptors to victory while tying his season-high mark in scoring. Toronto has been shuffling its starting lineup in recent games, but there's a chance Trent stays in the first unit when the Raptors take on the Pacers on Jan. 2. He's scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Starting Friday
Trent is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Suns, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports. The Raptors continue to shuffle around their starting unit, and Trent will be the beneficiary of it Friday. The shooting guard has played a reserve role in his previous three games. He is averaging 16.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 31.9 minutes in 18 games as a starter.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Scores 20 points off bench
Trent supplied 20 points (8-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 124-113 loss to the Clippers. Trent missed four straight games between Dec. 16 and Dec. 21 and looked a step slow in Toronto's win at Cleveland prior to Christmas Day, but he was his usual self in this one. He's certainly capable of putting up solid scoring numbers on a game-to-game basis, but the fact that he keeps coming off the bench puts a hard cap on his fantasy upside. Still, he's managed to become a reliable asset and has averaged 15.8 points per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field across nine December appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Not starting Friday
Trent will come off the bench in Friday's affair versus the Cavaliers, Vivek Jacob of the Raptors' official site reports. Trent will come off the bench Friday after missing four games with quad soreness. Although there has been no announcement of any limitations for Trent, his absence in the starting lineup could indicate that he will not receive his usual allotment of minutes.... See More ... Raptors' Gary Trent: Receives green light Friday
Trent (quadriceps) will play in Friday's meeting with the Cavaliers, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Trent has missed four contests with left quad soreness but will take the floor Friday in Cleveland. His return will likely bump Juancho Hernangomez back to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Questionable against Cleveland
Trent (quadriceps) is questionable to play in Friday's matchup with the Cavaliers, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. Trent is questionable to miss his fifth straight game due to left quadriceps soreness. He will have extra time to heal for Tuesday's game versus the Clippers if he can't go Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Ruled out
Trent (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Knicks, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Trent will miss a fourth straight game due to a quadriceps injury. Raptors' Gary Trent: Not playing Sunday
Trent (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Warriors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Toronto's head coach sounded discouraged by the lack of progress on Trent's rehab, and it remains to be seen when he'll be back on the team. His next chance to play will come Monday at the 76ers, and his absence probably means Malachi Flynn will see plenty of minutes once again.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Gary Trent: Iffy for Sunday
Trent (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Warriors. Trent was a late addition to the injury report prior to Toronto's previous game and ultimately missed the contest. His absence opened up 28 minutes for Malachi Flynn, who will likely see significant minutes once more if Trent sits.... See More ... See Less

Josh Lewenberg@JLew10502D agoGranted, Gary Trent Jr. has been playing well against a lot of teams in a lot of different buildings recently. Still, you had to feel pretty good about his chances of playing well against this particular team in this particular building. Just another game? No way.
