Chiefs' Jaaron Hayek: Goes on IR
Hayek (shoulder) reverted to the Chiefs' injured reserve Thursday after going unclaimed off waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hayek signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova in May. He has been held out of practices and preseason games since sustaining a shoulder injury in early August. Hayek will now be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless he is waived with an injury settlement by Kansas City.

If Hayek clears waivers, he'll revert to Kansas City's injured reserve list and miss all of the 2024 campaign unless the two parties reach an injury settlement.

Hayek signed with the Chiefs in May after attending Kansas City's rookie minicamp. He's battling for a depth spot at wide receiver, but missing practices and games due to injury will make his slim chance at making the 53-man roster even smaller.

Hayek signed a contract with Kansas City on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Villanova product didn't hear his name called in the 2024 Draft, but he received an invite from the Super Bowl champs to attend their rookie minicamp over the weekend and parlayed it into a contract. Hayek will try to stick in a Kansas City receiving corps that has few established options for 2024
