JJ Pegues LV DT
Raiders' JJ Pegues: Not listed on injury report
12m agoPegues (hand) was a full participant in Las Vegas' practice Wednesday.
Pegues is healthy again after suffering a hand injury during the Week 16 loss to the Texans. The 24-year-old has recorded six tackles (two solo) across seven games this season and will likely continue to serve a limited role during Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
-
Robert Hunt CAR OT
Panthers' Robert Hunt: Limited to open week
14m agoHunt (biceps) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Hunt is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn biceps that he suffered in Week 2 against the Cardinals. He was limited in his first practice since September, and he would likely have to log consecutive limited practices before being cleared to return. Sunday's game against the Seahawks may be too soon for him to return, so Week 18 against the Buccaneers would be his next chance to play if he's ruled out for Week 17.
-
Ikem Ekwonu CAR OT
Panthers' Ikem Ekwonu: Logs full practice Wednesday
21m agoEkwonu (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Ekwonu was held out of the Panthers' Week 16 win over the Buccaneers due to a knee injury. He is now on track to play against the Seahawks on Sunday and will likely reclaim the starting job at left tackle from Yosh Nijman.
-
Charles Cross SEA OT
Seahawks' Charles Cross: Doesn't practice Wednesday
22m agoCross (hamstring) didn't participate in Seattle's practice Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Cross is still battling the hamstring injury that held him out of the Week 16 win over the Rams. Josh Jones would likely make another start at left tackle during Sunday's matchup versus the Panthers if Cross ends up being forced to miss a second straight game.
-
Robert Rochell CAR CB
Panthers' Robert Rochell: Past ankle issue
25m agoRochell (ankle) was not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Rochell sustained an ankle injury during the Panthers' Week 16 win over the Buccaneers. The injury prevented him from returning to the game, but his lack of a designation for Wednesday's practice puts him on track to play against the Seahawks on Sunday. The fifth-year corner has served solely on special teams and has logged four tackles (two solo) over the Panthers' last three games.
-
Sean Rhyan GB OT
Packers' Sean Rhyan: Limited in practice
28m agoRhyan (knee) was a limited participant in Green Bay's practice Wednesday.
Rhyan popped up on the team's injury report Wednesday, as he's currently dealing with a knee injury. While it's unclear when the 25-year-old got hurt, Jacob Monk would likely get the start at center Saturday versus the Ravens if Rhyan ends up being unable to play.

Owen White CHW RP
Owen White: Headed to KBO
7h agoWhite signed a one-year contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization on Wednesday, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports.
White has struggled during his brief stints in the big leagues, allowing 20 earned runs over just 14 innings in his MLB career. He fared a bit better at Triple-A Charlotte in 2025, posting a 4.44 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 81 frames, and he'll now aim to further hone his craft overseas.

Michael Chavis LAD 2B
Reds' Michael Chavis: Signs minors deal with Reds
7h agoChavis signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
Chavis spent the entirety of 2025 with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate, slashing .291/.350/.547 with 13 homers, 45 RBI and 45 runs scored across 283 plate appearances. The 30-year-old infielder will get a chance to compete for a roster spot during spring camp, but he'll most likely return to the minors to begin the '26 campaign.
-
Matt Mervis MIA 1B
Nationals' Matt Mervis: Coming home on minors pact
11h agoMervis signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Wednesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Mervis, who turns 28 shortly after Opening Day, has a career .165/.238/.322 slash line with 10 home runs, a 7.7 percent walk rate and a 34.5 percent strikeout rate in 261 MLB plate appearances over the past three seasons. He has been worth -1.5 fWAR over that span, in part because he is also a negative defender at first base. Mervis is a native of Washington D.C. and will be competing with players like Jose Tena, Warming Bernabel and Yohandy Morales for opportunities this year if injuries strike the big club.

Pete Fairbanks TB RP
Marlins' Pete Fairbanks: Lands in Miami on one-year deal
12h agoFairbanks and the Marlins agreed Wednesday on a one-year, $13 million contract, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Tampa Bay declined Fairbanks' $11 million club option for 2026 earlier this offseason, but the reliever ended up securing an extra $2 million after hitting the open market. The deal also includes a $1 million signing bonus and another $1 million in appearance-based incentives, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The Marlins took a committee approach to the closer position in 2025, but Fairbanks' contract should give him some security as the Marlins' preferred ninth-inning man heading into spring training. Though staying healthy has often been an issue for Fairbanks throughout his career, he continued to pitch effectively in his age-31 season in 2025, logging a 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:18 K:BB while converting 27 of 32 save chances across 60.1 innings with the Rays.

Ryan O'Hearn SD 1B
Pirates' Ryan O'Hearn: Gets $29 million from Pirates
1d agoThe Pirates signed O'Hearn to a two-year, $29 million contract Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
He'll have the opportunity to stretch the total guarantee to $30 million if he reaches $500,000 in incentives each year of the deal. O'Hearn has slashed .277/.343/.445 over the last three regular seasons between the Orioles and Padres and made his first All-Star team in 2025. The left-handed hitter reversed a career trend and hit better versus lefties (.832 OPS) than righties (.795 OPS) in 2025, so he could be an everyday player in Pittsburgh. With Spencer Horwitz manning first base, O'Hearn will likely see most of his playing time at designated hitter.
-
Jacob Webb TEX RP
Cubs' Jacob Webb: Grabs MLB pact from Cubs
2d agoThe Cubs signed Webb to a one-year contract Tuesday that includes a club option for 2027, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.
Webb was non-tendered by the Rangers last month even after posting a 3.00 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 58:19 K:BB across 66 innings during the 2025 season. The 32-year-old right-hander should fill a middle-relief role in the Cubs' bullpen.

Jaxson Hayes LAL C
Lakers' Jaxson Hayes: Questionable for Christmas Day
4h agoHayes (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Hayes left Tuesday's game against Phoenix with a sore left ankle, and the issue remains a problem ahead of Thursday's matchup with Houston. If he can't play Thursday, Maxi Kleber and Jarred Vanderbilt would handle most of the backup center minutes behind Deandre Ayton.
-
Luka Doncic LAL PG
Lakers' Luka Doncic: Officially questionable
4h agoDoncic is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Doncic sustained a left leg contusion Saturday, and he missed Tuesday's contest as a result. A previous report from Shams Charania of ESPN indicated Doncic was likely to play on Christmas Day, but the Lakers are labeling the star guard as questionable. If Doncic were to sit, Nick Smith would likely draw a second consecutive start..
-
Rui Hachimura LAL PF
Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Likely to play Christmas Day
4h agoHachimura (groin) is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Hachimura has missed the Lakers' last two games due to a groin injury. He's progressing toward returning Christmas Day, and if he's given the green light to play, then Jake LaRavia and Nick Smith would be the top candidates to exit the Lakers' starting lineup. Hachimura is averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 threes over 32.9 minutes per game this season.
-
Dorian Finney-Smith HOU PF
Rockets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Chance to return Christmas Day
5h agoFinney-Smith (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Finney-Smith has yet to appear in a game this season as he continues to recover from an offseason ankle surgery. The veteran forward was eyeing a January return, but it looks like he's slightly ahead of schedule. If cleared to face the Lakers on Christmas Day, Finney-Smith would likely be under a significant minutes restriction. Still, his return could mean fewer opportunities for Jae'Sean Tate or Josh Okogie.
-
Alperen Sengun HOU C
Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Questionable Thursday
5h agoSengun is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers due to left calf tightness.
Sengun is at risk of missing the Rockets' game on Christmas Day due to a calf injury. If the standout center were to miss the contest, Steven Adams, Clint Capela and Jabari Smith would handle most of the center duties. In his last six games, Sengun is averaging 23.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks across 35.5 minutes.
-
Jae'Sean Tate HOU SF
Rockets' Jae'Sean Tate: Questionable for Christmas Day
5h agoTate is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers due to a left wrist contusion.
Tate may have picked up the injury during the Rockets' loss to the Clippers on Tuesday, when he played 14 minutes and finished with seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one block. His playing time has fluctuated over the course of the season, but if he was not cleared to play Christmas Day, then Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason would be in line for more rotational minutes off the bench.
-
Alexander Zharovsky MON RW
Canadiens' Alexander Zharovsky: Reaches 10-goal, 25-point marks
10h agoZharovsky scored a goal in Salavat Yulaev Ufa's 4-2 loss to Amur Khabarovsk in the KHL on Tuesday.
With the goal, Zharovsky is at 10 goals and 25 points in 30 appearances. The 18-year-old winger has made himself a big part of Ufa's offense, earning five of his goals on the power play. It'll still be a while before he reaches the NHL, as he is under contract through the end of 2026-27 with Salavat Yulaev.
-
Ryan Graves PIT D
Penguins' Ryan Graves: Slips out of lineup
10h agoGraves has been scratched for five straight games, including Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Graves lost his place in the lineup when Brett Kulak was acquired from the Oilers. However, Kulak has yet to make much of an impression, and Graves' continued presence on the NHL roster could afford him a chance to get back into action. Graves has been on the NHL roster since Nov. 4, so he'd need waivers to get back to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He's put up one goal, 19 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 13 hits and a minus-4 rating over 17 appearances.
-
Zakhar Bardakov COL C
Avalanche's Zakhar Bardakov: No place in lineup
10h agoBardakov was scratched for the sixth straight game in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Mammoth.
Bardakov was a regular while the Avalanche were trying to get to full health earlier in the year, but the 24-year-old has lost his place with the team missing just Logan O'Connor (hip) up front. Bardakov will have to wait for more players to be absent before he can add to his totals of five points, 16 shots on net and 22 hits in 25 games this season.
-
Rasmus Ristolainen PHI D
Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Earns first point
10h agoRistolainen notched an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.
The helper on Carl Grundstrom's empty-netter was Ristolainen's first point in five games since he made his season debut following his recovery from triceps surgery. The 31-year-old Ristolainen is filling a bottom-four role so far, and he's added a plus-1 rating, seven shots on net, eight hits and eight blocked shots. Fantasy managers don't need to roster him unless he gets hot on offense, though he could help in the physical categories in deeper formats.
-
Sean Couturier PHI C
Flyers' Sean Couturier: Supplies pair of helpers
10h agoCouturier notched two assists, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.
Couturier hasn't scored in nine games, and he has just a pair of two-assist outings in that span. The 33-year-old center remains a key part of the Flyers' top six, but he's lost a power-play role due to that recent quiet stretch. For the season, he's at five goals, 16 helpers, 53 shots on net, 36 hits, 26 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 35 contests.
-
Carl Grundstrom PHI RW
Flyers' Carl Grundstrom: Fills empty net Tuesday
10h agoGrundstrom scored an empty-net goal, added two PIM, logged two hits and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.
Grundstrom scored in consecutive contests for the first time this season. The 28-year-old has taken advantage of a chance to play on the fourth line and looks to be a lock for the Flyers' lineup for a while. He's up to five goals, one assist, 16 shots on net, 27 hits and a plus-6 rating over 10 appearances, though that scoring pace won't last given his lofty 31.3 shooting percentage.
