Julian Love SEA SAF
Seahawks' Julian Love: Back to normal workload
10h agoLove recorded eight tackles (three solo) in Thursday's 38-37 win over the Rams.
This marked Love's third game since returning from injured reserve. He had recorded only two combined tackles across the first two games of that sample, but he performed to his typical standard in Thursday's win. Love should be in line for a solid close to the regular season.
-
DeMarcus Lawrence SEA LB
Seahawks' DeMarcus Lawrence: Makes nine stops
10h agoLawrence recorded nine tackles (three solo) and one pass defensed in Thursday's 38-37 win over the Rams.
Lawrence began the week on the injury report with a quad injury, but that didn't plague him in Thursday's win. He played a season-high 65 defensive snaps and also turned in his highest tackle total. Lawrence had topped two tackles only once in his last five games entering Thursday's matchup.
-
Devon Witherspoon SEA CB
Seahawks' Devon Witherspoon: Tallies nine stops in Week 16 win
10h agoWitherspoon posted nine tackles (five solo) during the Seahawks' 38-37 overtime win over the Rams on Thursday.
Witherspoon matched a season high that he set in Week 4 against the Cardinals and finished as the Seahawks' fourth-leading tackler behind Drake Thomas (13), Ernest Jones (12) and Nick Emmanwori (11). Since the Seahawks' Week 8 bye, Witherspoon has totaled 47 tackles (30 solo), five pass defenses (one interception) and one fumble recovery across eight games.
-
Nick Emmanwori SEA SAF
Seahawks' Nick Emmanwori: Posts 11 stops vs. LAR
10h agoEmmanwori registered 11 tackles (seven solo) during the Seahawks' 38-37 overtime win over the Rams on Thursday.
The rookie second-rounder registered the most tackles of his young career Thursday and finished as the game's third-leading tackler behind Drake Thomas (13) and Ernest Jones (12). In the eight games since the Seahawks' Week 8 bye, Emmanwori has accumulated 54 tackles (39 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and nine pass defenses (including one interception).
-
Ernest Jones SEA LB
Seahawks' Ernest Jones: Nearly gets INT in Week 16 victory
10h agoJones posted 12 tackles (four solo) during the Seahawks' 38-37 overtime win over the Rams on Thursday.
Jones posted double-digit tackles for a fourth consecutive game (and sixth time this season), and he finished Thursday's game as the second-leading tackler behind Drake Thomas (13). Jones was the only Seattle defender to play all 92 defensive snaps and came close to giving the Seahawks possession in overtime, but his apparent interception of Matthew Stafford was reversed after replay showed the ball hit the ground. Jones is up to 116 combined tackles through 13 regular-season games, and he'll look to add to his total in the Seahawks' Week 17 road tilt against the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 28.
-
Drake Thomas SEA LB
Seahawks' Drake Thomas: Career-high 13 stops in OT win
10h agoThomas posted 13 tackles (six solo) during the Seahawks' 38-37 overtime win over the Rams on Thursday.
Thomas led both teams Thursday with a career-high 13 stops, which was almost as many as he accumulated over the three games prior to Week 16 (15 combined tackles). He is now up to 86 combined tackles through 15 regular-season games, with 54 of his stops coming in the eight games since the Seahawks' Week 8 bye. Thomas will have two more opportunities to reach the tackling century mark for the first time in his career, starting with Week 17 against the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Wade Meckler SF CF
Giants' Wade Meckler: Designated for assignment
12h agoThe Giants designated Meckler for assignment Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With Adrian Houser's signing becoming official Friday, Meckler will end up as the roster casualty necessary to make room on San Francisco's 40-man roster. The 25-year-old outfielder slashed .287/.390/.370 across 401 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento this past season, but he hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023. His ability to play across the outfield and at second base will help his chances of being claimed by another club. However, his chances of contributing in the majors are slim.
-
Marco Luciano PIT LF
Pirates' Marco Luciano: DFA'd by Bucs
13h agoThe Pirates designated Luciano for assignment Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Just two weeks after being claimed from San Francisco, Luciano will once again enter the waiver process following Pittsburgh's acquisitions of Brandon Lowe, Jake Mangum and Mason Montgomery on Friday. The 24-year-old Luciano -- once considered a top prospect in baseball -- could still be an attractive waiver target for other clubs despite his career .590 OPS in the big leagues.
-
Tsung-Che Cheng PIT SS
Pirates' Tsung-Che Cheng: Pushed off 40-man
13h agoThe Pirates designated Cheng for assignment Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
The Pirates needed to clear some roster space after bringing in three players via a three-team trade with Houston and Tampa Bay on Friday, and Cheng will end up as one of the casualties. The 24-year-old infielder made his MLB debut near the beginning of last season, going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts before being sent back to the minors. He didn't fare well at the plate in Triple-A either, slashing .209/.310/.271 with 36 RBI, 37 runs scored and 18 steals across 398 plate appearances at Indianapolis.
-
Ian Hamilton NYY RP
Braves' Ian Hamilton: Signs with Atlanta
13h agoHamilton signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with Atlanta on Friday.
Hamilton finished 2025 with a 4.28 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 40 regular-season innings -- the worst numbers of his three-year tenure in the Bronx. The 30-year-old righty will now attempt to land a spot in Atlanta's bullpen, but even if he makes the big-league club, he won't be likely to receive many high-leverage opportunities with Raisel Iglesias, Robert Suarez, Dylan Lee and Joe Jimenez (knee) already on the roster.
-
Ildemaro Vargas ARI 2B
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Back with D-backs on minors deal
13h agoVargas signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Vargas spent most of his time at Triple-A Reno this past season but still managed to appear in 38 games for the D-backs, during which he slashed .270/.292/.383 with 19 RBI and 12 runs scored. He'll officially return to the organization to begin the 2026 campaign, although he's expected to remain an organizational depth piece.
-
Brandon Waddell NYM RP
Mets' Brandon Waddell: Outrighted to Triple-A
16h agoThe Mets outrighted Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
New York designated Waddell for assignment earlier this week, and he'll remain in the organization after clearing waivers. Waddell posted a 3.45 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 31.1 major-league innings last season.
-
Julius Randle MIN PF
Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Makes key free throws in win
2m agoRandle provided 19 points (3-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 12-16 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 112-107 victory over the Thunder.
Randle's work at the charity stripe was a difference-maker, although one key miss made Anthony Edwards work a little harder for the go-ahead shot. The frontcourt defense of Randle and Rudy Gobert proved to be effective against Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein, who combined for only 15 points in the loss. Ranfle is on an excellent five-game tear, averaging 22.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists over the span.
-
Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Double-doubles with five stocks
8h agoEdwards (foot) racked up 26 points (9-20 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks over 41 minutes during Friday's 112-107 win over the Thunder.
Edwards was excellent in his return from a three-game absence, drilling clutch shots down the stretch for the Timberwolves while locking up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the Thunder's final two possessions. Edwards didn't show any lingering effects of the foot injury, so he should be good to go for Sunday's game against the Bucks.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Well-rounded performance in loss
8h agoGilgeous-Alexander generated 35 points (12-26 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks across 37 minutes in Friday's 112-107 loss to the Timberwolves.
Gilgeous-Alexander led all players with a 35-point outburst, reaching the 30-point threshold for the fourth time in six outings during December. The reigning MVP also tallied a game-high seven assists, dishing out at least five dimes for a fifth consecutive contest. The superstar was effective on the defensive end as well, recording multiple steals and multiple blocks for a second straight game and for the third time on the campaign.
-
Darius Garland CLE PG
Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Records season highs in defeat
9h agoGarland supplied 35 points (13-27 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight assists, two rebounds and one steal across 33 minutes in Friday's 136-125 loss to the Bulls.
With Donovan Mitchell (illness) sidelined, Garland saw an increased role on the offensive end and posted a season-high 35 points. He also knocked down a season-best six triples after shooting an abysmal 20.5 percent from downtown in his previous five appearances in December. Additionally, the seventh-year point guard dished out a team-high-tying eight assists, and he has logged at least six dimes in four consecutive contests.
-
Nikola Vucevic CHI C
Bulls' Nikola Vucevic: Double-doubles in win
9h agoVucevic contributed 24 points (11-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt), 15 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 136-125 victory over the Cavaliers.
Vucevic has now scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games, and he's been getting his buckets efficiently, going 20-for-34 from the floor over that stretch. It's been an up-and-down season for Vucevic thus far, but he's still flirting with top-60 value behind averages of 16.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 triples per contest.
-
Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Double-doubles with three stocks
9h agoRobinson produced 21 points (7-8 FG, 7-8 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 26 minutes during Friday's 116-107 loss to the 76ers.
Robinson recorded his first double-digit scoring game of the year, and it was also the first time this season he's hit consecutive free throws, which had the New York crowd going wild. However, with averages of 4.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game on the season, Mitchell can only be viewed as a shot-blocking and rebounding specialist in deep leagues.
-
Radko Gudas ANA D
Ducks' Radko Gudas: Offers helper in loss
6h agoGudas posted an assist, two shots on goal and five hits in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
Gudas set up Ryan Poehling's first-period tally. This ended a five-game slump for Gudas, who has four helpers, 35 hits, 12 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 10 contests in December. For the season, the veteran defenseman is at seven points, 34 shots on net, 84 hits, 40 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 24 appearances.
-
Ryan Poehling ANA C
Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Puts away goal in loss
6h agoPoehling scored a goal and blocked three shots in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
Poehling kept his recent success on offense going by ending a 19-game goal drought. In that span, he had eight assists, five of which have come within the last five contests. The bottom-six center is at 12 points, 28 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating across 28 appearances this season.
-
Mikael Granlund ANA C
Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Pots goal in blowout loss
6h agoGranlund scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
Granlund has two goals and a helper over his last two outings following a six-game slump after he returned from a lower-body injury. The 33-year-old has mainly played in a third-line role this season, though he's getting power-play time as well. Granlund is at five goals, 12 points, 35 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating over 17 appearances.
-
Beckett Sennecke ANA RW
Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Buries goal in loss
6h agoSennecke scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
Sennecke ended a four-game goal drought with his third-period tally, though it was too late to make a difference. The rookie winger is up to 11 goals, 28 points, 69 shots on net, 34 hits, 24 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 35 appearances. He leads all rookies in goals and points, so Sennecke should be listed alongside Ivan Demidov and Matthew Schaefer in the Calder Trophy race as the season approaches the midway mark.
-
Petr Mrazek ANA G
Ducks' Petr Mrazek: Makes return in relief outing
6h agoMrazek stopped 14 of 18 shots in relief of Lukas Dostal in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
This was Mrazek's first appearance since he suffered a lower-body injury that ultimately cost him about two weeks. He likely would have been in line to start Saturday versus the Blue Jackets, but a 45:41 relief appearance Friday may change the Ducks' plans. Mrazek remains at 3-3-0 through eight appearances, and he's added a 3.85 GAA and an .868 save percentage this season. If his performance continues to be poor, the Ducks might turn to Ville Husso in the backup role, as he had some positive moments while both Mrazek and Dostal were on the shelf.
-
Lukas Dostal ANA G
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Pulled in first period
6h agoDostal allowed four goals on seven shots in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Stars.
Dostal couldn't take advantage of the Stars being on the second half of a back-to-back, as he didn't make it through one period. With eight goals allowed on 55 shots over his last three outings, Dostal is experiencing a slight rough patch since returning from an upper-body injury. He's at a 12-7-1 record with a 2.91 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 20 outings overall. His quick hook Friday may have been a move to keep him fresh enough to play Saturday versus the Blue Jackets, but the Ducks didn't announce their intentions after the contest.
