Lapierre was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Sunday. Lapierre scored a goal in a brief six-game NHL stint in 2021-22. The 20-year-old center has excellent playmaking potential and could see an extended NHL look at some point in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less

Capitals' Hendrix Lapierre: Returned to juniors
Lapierre was assigned to QMJHL Acadie-Bathurst on Wednesday. Lapierre got an extended look with the Capitals primarily as a result of Nicklas Backstrom (hip) being on the injured list. The 19-year-old posted a goal and seven shots in six games while averaging 9:35 of ice time. Lapierre is likely to be a cornerstone of the franchise moving forward but will get the ice time he needs to continue his development in the junior ranks for the balance of the 2021-22 campaign -- with an eye on returning to the NHL as soon as next year.... Capitals' Hendrix Lapierre: Pockets first NHL goal
Lapierre scored a goal on two shots and had two PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Rangers. Lapierre trailed a T.J. Oshie rush and slipped a shot through New York netminder Alexander Georgiev to give the Capitals a 3-0 lead in the second period. It was the first career goal for the 19-year-old Lapierre, who was making his NHL debut. Drafted 22nd overall by Washington in 2020, Lapierre centered the third line between Oshie and Conor Sheary.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Hendrix Lapierre: Back to junior leagues
Lapierre was released from training camp and loaned to QMJHL Chicoutimi on Monday. Lapierre will hope to pick up where he left off when the CHL suspended operations due to the pandemic, posting three goals and eight points in his first five games. The 18-year-old has a bright future if he can get his development back on track after dealing with neck issues in the last year, and should be squarely on the radar for those managers in dynasty formats....
